About the Event
The Bougainville Disabled Persons Organization is now preparing to host the International Disability Day in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville on December 3, 2024. The event is supported by the ABG Department of Community Development, Bougainville Partnership (DFAT) and MFAT (New Zealand Government).
This year's theme, "Amplifying the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future" highlights the importance of empowering individuals with disabilities to lead and shape a more inclusive and barrier-free society.
The event reflects the collaborative actions we are taking at different levels in advocating the rights of persons with disabilities in Bougainville in line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability. The event also coincides with the 20 Days of Human Rights Activism program currently initiated in Bougainville.
The event will include a series of identified activities and presentations involving persons with disabilities from all over Bougainville. A…
